Michael Erdman is a career firefighter and former police officer with a lifelong interest in woodworking. Growing up, he learned the value of hard work and attention to detail; lessons that continue to influence every project that leaves the shop today.
In 2020, he combined his woodworking hobby with his background in public safety and founded Erdman Woodworks. What began as a way to create custom plaques for fellow firefighters and law enforcement officers has grown into a business serving customers across a wide range of organizations and industries.
Years spent in public safety have given Michael an appreciation for the stories behind many of the projects he creates. Whether it's recognizing a retirement, celebrating a promotion, commemorating years of service, or creating a custom piece for a home or business, he understands that these projects often represent important milestones, not just another decoration on the wall.
Today, every project is designed and built in his Hanover, Pennsylvania workshop using quality materials and careful attention to detail. While first responder plaques remain a large part of the business, Erdman Woodworks also creates custom signs, wooden flags, awards, and personalized projects for businesses, organizations, and families looking for something unique.
